Behind Pink Cosmos are the hands of artisans whose craftsmanship has been shaped through years of patience, practice and dedication.

For many of the makers behind this print, the journey into handmade craft did not begin with a lifelong plan or formal training. It began simply as a way to support their families and communities. But over time, what first started as necessity slowly became something much more meaningful.
“As we continued the work, we began to truly enjoy the craft. Seeing the final product made us feel proud.”

Their skills were first learned within their villages before being refined further through observation, repetition and years of hands-on experience. Day by day, techniques were strengthened through patience and continuous learning, with knowledge passed between artisans and carried forward through generations of traditional craftsmanship.

There is a precision behind each piece that often goes unseen. Every print requires careful alignment, focus and control, where even the smallest variation can change the final result entirely.
“People often do not realise how much skill, care and patience this work requires.”

While each stage of the process carries its own importance, the makers shared that one of the most meaningful moments comes at the very end, seeing the finished garments carefully folded and prepared after days of work and craftsmanship.
“It is the moment where all the care, effort and patience can finally be seen together in the final product.”

At Daughters of India, supporting handmade craftsmanship also means supporting the people behind it. By continuing to invest in traditional artisanal techniques, we hope to contribute to the preservation of these skills and the communities that carry them forward.
